Mel took the time out of a busy day to ensure that a patient's medications that had been dumped out of his pill box were back where they were supposed to be so that he could safely take them. She went above and beyond her duties to allow the patient to confidently take his medication and give his family reassurance. She routinely takes care of very difficult patients both in acuity and emotionally distraught with grace and empathy. Melissa treats every patient as if they were her daughter, her mother, her grandparents. I've never seen her lose her patience. She is a wealth of knowledge and compassion. She is an asset to any department but especially the ER with her calming demeanor.
