I was unexpectedly hospitalized for extensive bilateral pulmonary emboli, and Melissa was my nurse. I had a tremendous amount of pain and a terrible time with shortness of breath. Melissa went above and beyond to make sure I felt like the only patient in the hospital. She was not only kind and patient, but she was always checking on me even when it "wasn't time to." Melissa always had a smile on her face and never failed to cheer me up before she left the room. She also made sure my wife was comfortable during my stay. Melissa was extremely knowledgeable, an incredible professional, and a tremendous asset to the VA. She made me believe that vets can get good healthcare. Thank you, Melissa, for all you did for us and for the thankless job you do so graciously each and every day!!
