My nurse, Melissa, took so much time to support me through my discharge. I had been given a number to call to make arrangements to enter a battered women's shelter. I am 18 years old and haven't had to do this before, so I was scared. Melissa called the number and learned the shelter was full. So, she took the time to find another shelter for me. She reviewed my discharge instructions and gave me so much emotional support. I felt like she was treating me like family. From the bottom of my heart I thank Melissa for the wonderful care she gave to me. Because of her special attention and encouragement, I feel I am ready to face some really rough times ahead.
