Melissa was my daughter's nurse when I had to bring her to the ER for abdominal pain. Melissa was fantastic. She checked on her frequently and explained each test and procedure so she could understand. My daughter was 14 at the time of her visit so while I knew as a nurse they would rule out some very basic things, my daughter was clueless.
Melissa explained the reasons for each test and was very kind and professional as she did so. She checked on her frequently and held her hand at one point in time patting her shoulder at others, always with a reassuring smile. Unfortunately, before we were admitted Melissa's shift was over. She brought her oncoming nurse in to meet my daughter and explained who her new nurse was and updated her on my daughter's condition and tests (this was before the bedside report.) Each time I think about that visit I always think about how Melissa made such a great impression on me and my daughter and how lucky we are to have nurses with such caring and compassion. She is the type of nurse we want representing TRMC.
