Early Sunday morning I had to bring my youngest boy to the Emergency Room as he was having issues breathing. When we arrived we were immediately triaged and asked to take a seat in the waiting room as they were waiting on a room to move us to. We had barely sat down and there was a room available. While the services performed were very good for my son, what has really stood out were the people that performed those services. Now there are others that have gone far above what was to be expected, from the time my son came into the pediatric unit on the 4th floor. The first one works as the over night nurse. Melissa greeted my son and I like we were family. Even though he was sleeping she did anything she could to make him as comfortable as possible. She selflessly thought about the children that might be on the floor over the Easter holiday and made up some Easter baskets for them. She even made a way for my son to have a small Easter egg hunt as he was unable to join the family that day.
