A year ago today, our daughter delivered her first living child. She had lost her first child at birth 18 months prior. This first baby was full-term with a healthy, normal pregnancy. It was tragic for our daughter, her husband and the entire family. Melissa knew this and came in on her day off to be with the family for support and assist in any way she could for the birth of our daughter's second child. I had submitted this recommendation for Melissa to receive The DAISY Award last year after she was born, but she was not chosen as an Honoree. Melissa's kindness, commitment and compassion have not been forgotten, and we would love to see her recognized for her outstanding care.
