Mellisa S Renter, MSN, RN, CPN

Mellisa is an unsung hero at Children's Nebraska! She has taken a personal commitment to our Magnet principles and infuses them into our culture whenever she can. I have never met someone more devoted to developing our nurses, both professionally and personally, and it seems like every time I spend a little time with her, I feel invigorated and ready for the next challenge in my career. I didn't know what my professional future held for me until I joined our nursing Shared Governance, which Mellisa re-structured and oversees. I owe a plethora of self-development and confidence to Mellisa and realize that the best moments of my personal life and my career have come when I am fully engaged at work. My experience is not unique, and so many of us owe a massive Thank You to her for her continued excellence. She is quick to deflect recognition to the team around her, but she is truly so deserving of our gratitude. The professional development of our nursing division could not be in better hands.
