Melody L Stoerzinger, RN

I was going through my second procedure in a little over a month. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about being back at the hospital for the second time and may have been a bit cranky when Melody called my name. Melody was very professional in dealing with me. She took her time explaining how and what to expect throughout the procedure as she hooked up patches to my chest and a cuff to my arm. Melody assured me that she would be there throughout the procedure, monitoring me and my medication. I told her that the last procedure, a month ago, was perfect, as I slept through the procedure and wanted to do that again. Melody reassured me that it won’t be a problem and again reminded me she would be here.

I felt a simple couple of pats on my right shoulder and a voice asking if I was ok when I woke up. It was Melody who assured me that they were almost done. I did end up with a little discomfort, and she asked if I could feel anything. I said yes, and she asked the surgeon if it was ok to give more medicine. He said yes, and I was comfortable again. Melody did exactly what she said she would do, and I was grateful to have had Melody there with me. There were so many different ways that ending could have gone. I’m so happy to have had a professional like her there. Thank you, Melody, for going above and beyond.
