I recently had my first baby; what an incredible experience! I have so many amazing nurses who care for me. Melody stood out to me because of her genuine, uncommon compassion as a labor nurse. From the time she took me from triage to my room, I felt comforted. While I was getting my epidural, my husband and I were nervous and didn't know what to expect. Melody squeezed my hands and placed her forehead against mine to comfort me. As an ER nurse, I've never seen this; it truly made me change the way I think about patient care. She truly embodied the "Love Me" standard that Advent Health upholds.

Two days later, Melody worked again and ran into my family in the elevator. My mom insisted she come say hello to me and meet my daughter, and right before I left, she did! She helped me dress her and assisted my nurse by walking us to our car, making sure to help us capture some of our first family photos as a family of 3. I will never forget her care. It has encouraged me to always do the "little things" for my own patients because they mean a lot. Melody is the poster child for "Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ". I'm sure Advent Health Daytona already recognizes how special she is, but I'm writing it all down just to be sure! Keep it up Melody! We need nurses like you!
