My son came to have caps placed on his teeth. He is only 4. Melonie came and took him down and talked to him like she knew him forever. When the time came for him to go into the operating room, he asked if his dad and I could go back. She overheard him and offered to go back with him and stay until he fell asleep. My son agreed and was not scared at all. Melonie came and let us know he was asleep and I began to cry. She hugged me and I felt the connection of her being a mother and doing what any mother would do for their own child. She took on the sole responsibility of a child she had never met and gave him the best care. Melonie, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my son. You are an excellent example of a nurse who shows true compassion for others.
