I was having difficulties getting an IV cannula inserted and the fear of being pricked again and failing increases my anxiety. But when Melvin came to my room with a welcoming attitude, he acknowledged my fear with a sense of reassurance. After he patiently waited for me to be ready, he easily inserts the cannula and I did not feel any pain. When I also call for the nurse, he is very fast at responding, he answers with a smile behind the mask and he handled all the tasks with expertise; he welcomes me as always with a smile and he gives small talk which let me feel that his time with me is not wasted. I would like to thank Nurse Melvin for what he provides for his efforts and care. I cannot describe how to properly thank him for his priceless work. Thank you to all the nurses who sacrificed their time to provide empathy to this patient.

PS. My veins are very small and fragile and I face the same problem in all hospitals I visit and every admission.
