Meredith Bertalon, RN

Meredith began our introductions with such radiant enthusiasm… “I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” I was an hour late checking in for my Chemo-port placement. Her delightful wit and encouragement never wavered. I am needle phobic and the IV was (almost) painless. Her continued easy conversation of peaches and plum leather, her personal stories, as well as authentic interest in my life was profoundly calming and encouraging. She stayed with me chatting as we waited for the surgery room. She left her own phone near my head so I could listen to the tunes of my choice during the whole procedure. The whole team had an easy, professional, and friendly camaraderie. I have encountered so very many stellar humans during this startlingly abrupt change in my ‘plans’, but Meredith glows in my experience thus far. Kaiser has been supportive and easy to maneuver in spite of construction, COVID, and the legion of us fighting disease.
