I am writing this letter to wholeheartedly nominate Meredith for the DAISY award. My husband and I were incredibly lucky to have her as our nurse during the birth of our baby, and her exceptional care, kindness, and professionalism made an unforgettable impact on us. She is truly deserving of this recognition.

From the moment she walked into the room, Meredith was a source of unwavering support and confidence. As a new mom, I was nervous, but her calm and empathetic demeanor immediately put me at ease. She never left my side, especially when the contractions and pain started. She provided constant emotional support, making me feel strong and capable.

Meredith gave me practical advice and encouragement throughout the entire process, always reassuring me that I could do this. This truly showed that she is compassionate, trustworthy, and caring in all situations. She made a special connection with my family and me, making us feel safe and supported. What really stood out was the way Meredith cared for me, not just as a patient, but as a person. She provided invaluable support, woman-to-woman, throughout the entire delivery. She helped me find the perfect pushing position after we tried several options, guiding me on how to use my strength correctly. This demonstrated her clinical care and commitment to excellence.

She coached me through each push, helping me find my rhythm and stay focused. She even brought in a mirror so I could see my progress, which was so encouraging and gave me a renewed sense of energy. Meredith truly brought a sense of warmth and comfort to the entire experience and never stopped cheering me on. She went above and beyond to make my experience personal and encouraging.

After our baby was born, Meredith continued to be amazing. She provided a gentle and secure welcome for our baby and immediately helped with the first feeding, making sure both of us were comfortable and that our baby was latching properly. She was always checking in, asking if there was anything else she could do, and always respected my wishes and opinions. This showed that she does an excellent job educating the patient and family and listens to any questions or concerns they may have.

She created a calm and protective environment, ensuring both my baby and I were safe and cared for every second, showing that she advocates for the patient and is a problem solver. Meredith is more than just a nurse; she is a compassionate and dedicated advocate for her patients. Her ability to provide exceptional medical care while also giving such profound emotional support is truly a gift. We will be forever grateful for the incredible role she played in one of the most important moments of our lives. She is a shining example of what a nurse should be, and I believe she is the perfect candidate for this award.
