January 2020 Honoree
meredith jacquemin 2, ADN, RN
Meredith was my nurse on the night shift when I had to have a blood transfusion. It was especially stressful because the transfusion lasted a long time and because of the IV, I wasn't able to hold my baby because it stopped the transfusion every time when I bent my arm.
Meredith was on her first day back from maternity leave (which I am currently experiencing today so I know how hard that is), but she was so kind and compassionate. She reassured me, she held my baby when I couldn't, she placed my baby next to me and sat with me to make sure baby was safe and so I could be close to her during the transfusion. I will always remember how she made such a difficult night bearable for me with her kindness.
Note: This is Meredith's 2nd DAISY Award!
