Merima Nosic, RN

A homeless patient was preparing for discharge and did not have any shoes. Merima asked him what size he wore and then offered him the tennis shoes she was wearing at the time. The patient gratefully accepted, tearing up as he thanked her with a hug. Merima struggled to get to where she is today. She talked about a time when she had first come to America and did not have shoes herself. She went home from work that evening in socks but did not mind, as she knew she had multiple pairs of shoes sitting at home. Merima is a very kind and giving person. She truly would do anything she could to help someone. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of a DAISY Award.
