Merima Talic, RN

My wife was admitted to the Critical Care Unit in May 2024. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, but the swift response, treatment, and care she received helped stabilize her. Although the final outcome was not what we had hoped for and was devastating for our family, we have nothing but total admiration for the Critical Care staff and their hard work.

In particular, I want to express my deep appreciation for one of the nurses, Merima Talic. She spent a great deal of time caring for and treating my wife. Her professionalism, attentiveness and the respect and empathy she showed my wife were exceptional. Whenever alarms went off and we, as a family, were panicking, Merima was quick to respond with a calming voice and clear explanations.

Merima not only cared for my wife but also found the time to care for my family and me. She offered us advice on managing exhaustion and anxiety, helping to make our journey through such a dark time more bearable.

Merima might say that she’s just part of a team of professionals doing their job, and to a great extent, she’s right. However, I believe she went above and beyond what we could have expected. As a family, we have total gratitude and admiration for her. This is why I want to nominate Merima Talic for the DAISY Award—because she truly deserves it.
