Merlyn is one of the greatest people I have ever met in my life. My son was sick with cancer; he was young and afraid of nurses and needles, and the whole situation was difficult for us in every way.

She is an amazing nurse and a wonderful human being. She would enter the room, immediately change the energy, play with my son until he forgot about the needle, and even the nursing became easier for him. He would extend his hand willingly and get ready on his own, and he was happy to go to the hospital if we said we were going to see her, because he knew he would meet a friend, not just a nurse.

She was very kind and extremely professional in all her work. The injections took less than a minute and were painless; she had great skill at distracting a child, making it easier for him. She was one of the people who eased the hardships of that period for us, and I am so thankful for the care she provided. Even when she took a vacation and came back, she remembered to bring my son a gift.

Once, he was crying over her personal items, and she did not hesitate at all to give them to him until her shift ended. Also, during night shifts, she was the only nurse who would enter quietly so as not to disturb our sleep or turn on the lights; she tried to manage as much as possible without bothering us.
