Mercedes has consistently demonstrated compassion, encouragement, and professionalism.
It is my honor to recognize Mercedes Beasley, a nursing student graduating this semester, for her incredible perseverance, determination, and positive spirit throughout her journey to becoming a nurse.
Mercedes’s path to graduation has not been without challenges. Early in her academic journey, she was unsuccessful in the Edison State Community College (ESCC) nursing program. However, rather than allowing that setback to define her, she used it as motivation to continue pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. Her resilience and dedication are truly inspiring. Mercedes picked herself up, enrolled in an LPN program, and successfully earned her Licensed Practical Nurse credential. With renewed confidence and experience, she reapplied to the ESCC nursing program and returned stronger than ever, excelling both academically and clinically.
Beyond her academic success, Mercedes has consistently demonstrated compassion, encouragement, and professionalism. When she encountered fellow students during their clinical experiences, she was always positive and uplifting, offering support and encouragement when others needed it most. She continuously spoke highly of the ESCC nursing program and its instructors, serving as an ambassador for the program through her enthusiasm and gratitude.
Mercedes is a genuine ray of sunshine whose positivity and perseverance have impacted both her peers and instructors. She exemplifies what it means to overcome adversity with grace and determination. Her hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her goals have led her to this well-earned achievement of graduating with her RN this week.
Mercedes Beasley truly deserves recognition, and there is no doubt she will become an exceptional nurse and continue to positively impact the lives of those around her.
