Mia was the most phenomenal nurse and caregiver during my stay. I was admitted with hypothermia and a lactate of 3. I was so scared I was going to end up septic. The fast-acting motion and care given to me by Mia truly made all the difference. As soon as I was admitted to Tisch 14, she knew I was scared and anxious. She talked with me, listened to all of my concerns, and treated me like one of her family. She did the same with the roommates I had. She’s an ICU float nurse and her experience showed. I was so lucky to have had her. She understood that my symptoms came on quickly and was running to help and be by my side. She advocated for me and showed me so much compassion. I truly think she made all the difference in my recovery and quick turnaround. She is an asset to the NYU team and I’m sure her other patients agree.
