She is a fierce advocate for patients with mental illness and consistently makes appropriate and patient-focused decisions. She is able to delicately balance providing safe and effective care while maintaining boundaries with compassion.

Micaela exemplifies teamwork and leadership. She regularly assists her colleagues, offers mentorship to new nurses, and fosters a collaborative atmosphere that enhances patient care across the unit. From questions on restraints to behavioral management she is a go-to source throughout the hospital to provide assistance and is always eager to do so. During escalated situations on the unit Micaela is a calm and confident leader that others look to for direction. She frequently engages in actions that are above and beyond her assigned duties and is always looking for areas of improvement, whether in her own practice or on MHU. Her dedication to continuous learning and improvement inspires everyone around her.
