Micaela made a difference by showing an incredible level of dedication, compassion, and determination during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. After 36 hours of being stuck at 5cm with no progress, I felt completely hopeless and defeated. When I asked Micaela for her advice, she listened with care and offered a plan: take a break, eat, shower, and try again, and I’m so thankful I trusted her. She said, “You want a vaginal birth? I’ll get you there,” and she truly meant it. Once we restarted the Pitocin, she stayed by my side, rotating me with the peanut ball every 30 minutes, staying so focused on helping me progress. Her determination helped my body finally do what it needed to do. When she checked me and told me I had fully dilated, we both cried tears of joy. I was able to deliver my baby boy just over an hour later, something I wouldn’t have been able to do without her encouragement, advocacy, and heart. Micaela made me feel seen, supported, and empowered, and I will never forget what she did for me.
