January 2024 Honoree
Micah Fitzgeral, RN
Micah started having a more active role in my transfusions when I began to build up antibodies. He would come to the infusion center and honestly answer my questions. When it became a probability that I would not survive to see my children graduate from High School, Micah contacted the principals from their schools to coordinate a joint early graduation ceremony so I could be present. This act of kindness meant so much to me and my children, so much that I cannot express my gratitude. I have now passed the time anyone thought I would have, and Micah continues to show me support and concern.
Thank you, Micah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
