Micayla consistently demonstrates partnership, flexibility and compassion for others in our dynamic work environment. She was nominated by a peer for this award because "her compassion goes beyond what would be considered exceptional". Micayla has worked diligently to showcase a positive attitude and has contributed to building a healthy work environment. She has grown to become a preceptor, a Pressure Ulcer Prevention team member and a Point of Care Testing liaison, as well as a trusted resource for many new nurses.
Recognized for her sense of humor and ability to make challenging situations less intimidating, her approach to collaborative education with staff and custom-fitting the plan of care to meet the needs of her patients and families enables her to be a strong team member and a true partner in care. Micayla's thoughtful, compassionate and caring bedside manner exemplifies the core values of the Children's mission and vision to provide the best and safest care.
