My elderly mother was unfortunately declining so much from acute illnesses that we knew she would be dying. This was such an unfamiliar journey on so many levels, because we were unsure of how to navigate the hospital and medical procedures. Throughout our 7 day stay at Valley Medical Center we found all the nursing staff to be excellent and caring professionals. We want to recognize "Spike" (Michael Colton Gores) for his outstanding service. He came on shift when we were at a crucial point with making decisions. Even though I changed my mind several times therefore I had many requests to him; he always was kind and helpful. The following day at the end of his shift we saw him and started asking some more questions about a different area of her care. He patiently and with great professionalism, wisdom, and kindness answered our questions and stayed on his own time to help us. This is the best experience we have had at one of the most challenging times.
