Mr. Embrey has consistently displayed the highest qualities of an excellent nurse. They provide high-quality care to every veteran. For example, upon returning to the unit, they brought food for a veteran who had missed multiple meals for 24 hours. Also, they have stayed after work to perform quality improvement projects which improve processes in the ICU. They have introduced state-of-the-art medical devices to improve patient outcomes. They demonstrate all that is desired in a well-rounded, caring, hardworking, and accountable nurse leader. They have shown dedication to our veterans by picking up extra shifts just to take care of patients undergoing new procedures at our VA. While in the outpatient setting, Vets and their families talk about them and their top-notch care. God forbid, if I were ever in ICU as a patient, my trust would only be in them because I have confidence in knowing that my life is in the right hands.
