Our Daisy Award winner was nominated on two separate occasions, once by a peer, and again by a family of a patient.

Our peer nominator shared that in addition to taking care of a patient’s physical needs. The nurse gave spiritual and emotional support to the women who had been battered, coming from an extremely stressful home situation. Our nurse provided community resources and stayed close by to ensure that the patient’s total needs were addressed. “The patient was grateful for the support and care.”

The second nomination came from a patient and family. The nomination stated that the nurse “took the time to explain each step of the way for my wife. He was caring and professional.”
