Rehab leadership reached out a few months ago to ask Resource Team assistance on the CR-Main 5th floor with a knowledgeable, flexible teammate that would be able to provide consistency for the department, new grads, and the providers. With turnover, travelers, and new hires, the providers were concerned about the lack of experience on the unit for support of patient care and newer teammates. Michael Gozum was the teammate selected and assigned to CR Main 5th Floor and was extended for another three schedule periods to continue to improve the level of experience on the unit. In this timeframe, Michael has been recognized as being extremely flexible and accommodating to the patients, department, and team needs. Michael has stepped up for CR skills validations again this year to ensure all teammates are comfortable and confident in their skills and have Resource Team colleagues to lean on for practice or process questions even after skills validations are over.

Each time I round on the Rehab service line, Michael’s name continues to come up as someone to recognize. He has been described as “approachable, great, so good, awesome,” and “he speaks up for us, he’s a good one.” Feedback from the Rehab leadership is that “Michael is really good with customer service, great to our patients, and also with follow-up. At a time when our staffing support is so critical, Michael has been an asset to the team. Our patients love him. Thank you for sharing him with us!”
