As busy as Mike was every day, he would always find time to come in and talk me down, helping me manage the stress and anxiety.
This nomination was submitted when Michael worked on the unit. He has since transferred to the Arrhythmia Institute.
“I have to preface this by saying all the nurses here have been extraordinary. Michael is unbelievable, however. I just had a kidney transplant, and my numbers are fluctuating, causing untold amounts of stress on me. As busy as Mike was every day, he would always find time to come in and talk me down, helping me manage the stress and anxiety.
I was an NYPD police officer for 20 years and worked at Ground Zero when the towers fell. People would line the streets outside chanting, ‘You are our heroes,’ and ‘Thank you, we love you.’ Well, Michael Remedio is my hero, along with everyone I have met here at Mount Sinai.
God bless Mike for all he has done. I will never forget it.”
