Where do I start? Michael is not just a great nurse; he is a great co-worker. He is always the first one to offer help even when he is busy or in charge. He takes Veterans to appointments in all different buildings to help the aides out. He is willing to help with care and help get Veterans ready. Mike is pretty much the heart of 1 South, and I just can’t say enough about how great he is. When we have a major event or a busy day, Mike is always there to help keep everyone calm and things flowing. I have had the privilege to work alongside Mike for 3 years and he is an asset. I remember one day it was very busy with appointments and Mike came off of the med cart and helped me. He doesn’t have to do what he does but he really cares for each staff member and the Veterans to whom he gives such special attention. There is one Veteran who Mike makes sure always has his favorite snacks and beverages. He always comes over to ask if we are ok and to offer help. It is just so nice to see someone so selfless and such a genuine person. I honestly could go on more, but I think you get it!
