This letter is to express my gratitude to all the nurses who helped me while I was a patient at Providence Little Company of Mary San Pedro. While the Nurses were all kind, I would like to recognize Nurse Michael Leon in particular. His years of on-the-job experience seemed to have provided him with a deep understanding of how things can appear from the patient's perspective.

I felt he was able to recognize a patient's humanity; sometimes that can take second place to monitoring the vital signs, getting the medicine right, and checking off items on the list required to discharge the patient – all crucial. Like most patients, I imagine, I found being in the hospital stressful and it was just so nice to have Michael take care of me on my day of discharge. He tried hard to cut through the red tape so that I could go home as soon as possible. He was profoundly kind, calm, conscientious, and efficient. He did an excellent job!
