There was a patient in CSICU who had open heart surgery but faced multiple complications and an additional surgery afterward. The patient ended up being in CSICU for over 3 weeks and was very depressed. However, one day when Michael was caring for the patient, he had the idea to take the patient outside. On this sunny afternoon, with an order from the physician, of course, Michael and a few other nurses wheeled the patient out of the back door of the hospital so he can enjoy some sunshine. The patient's mood and outlook immediately changed and he was a completely different person afterward. Michael also tried to organize a reunion between the patient and his dog the next day when they went outside however, the patient's family member wasn't able to get his dog here. Even though it didn't work out, Michael's intentions were great and it truly shows how caring and compassionate he is. The patient ended up getting discharged a few days later but would not stop talking about how great Michael was and how much he appreciated him taking him outside those couple of days.
