I am 75 years old, but this was my first time in hospital for a non-scheduled procedure. Overwhelming, at the least. My first night nurse, Michael, immediately put me at ease. One of the most attentive, kind, and thorough individuals I have experienced. 

I had so many questions and Micheal politely answered them all and reassured me. I was not only in good hands, but great ones! Everyone worked as a team to achieve the best outcome. 

Now upon being admitted, I was told and showed how a tube would be inserted into my nose and stomach by the ER staff. I had concerns about this and opted not to do that. After meeting Michael, he explained what the procedure was, and the reason for it, but I was still not sure. 

The next two days I experienced a barium x-ray and vomited at what seemed for hours. That night the doctor came to tell me that I really needed this procedure - it wasn’t an option! I had total faith in Michael since he was the one performing the procedure, and with his bedside manner, he did everything he could to make this as easy as possible (by the way, it is not easy). Grateful for him and his nursing skills. Outstanding young person. I cannot possibly thank him enough. 

I’m glad I chose AdventHealth for my care. I hope not to be back but won’t hesitate to be here if needed.
