Mike is the epitome of a Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH) DAISY nurse. It is not one event that has led to this nomination, rather Mike exemplifies our BJH values every day in every encounter. Recently a patient made the management group aware that “Mike was the first contact who cared for me. His care led to my admission and contribution to my overall well-being. He was kind, caring, empathetic, energetic, and compassionate.” Mike also went above and beyond with a bed-bound patient to lead a team of staff members to decontaminate the patient, provide much-needed hygiene care and confirm the patient was updated and involved in their own care. Mike is a huge asset to this department and hospital. I would like to recognize him for his exceptional work and contagious positive energy.
