Michael is extraordinary in many ways. When he was a student coming in with WCU, wow what an amazing person. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. Michael was a Phlebotomist at his previous employer, so that is an extra for 4 East. Having the compassion of a saint, Michael has Veterans and family members who request him as their RN. Understanding some of the struggles that our Veterans and families are undergoing Michael goes the extra 10 miles to make sure his Veterans have just what is needed. I have been told by Veterans and family that Michael is an AMAZING advocate for them.
Always showing respect and working intensely with all the resources needed Michael is battling for his Veterans to maintain and meet goals for a better quality of life. When Michael is charge nurse, he is always fair about making the assignment, having everything ready for the next tour and caring for his Veterans. Michael is very deserving of this award because if every Veteran that Michael has cared for is asking for him to be their nurse or just asking him to come in and say hi that speaks volumes.
It takes a lot to be a nurse but when you are dealing with our National Heroes and they are requesting you to take care of them, you have really touched that induvial. That is a LOT of RESPECT, UNDERSTANDING, ADVOCACY, and STRENGHT. We are so lucky to have Michael as a family member on 4 East.
