The patient nominations routinely focused on Mike’s concerned interest in both them and their families, and his holistic approach while engaging with them.
Choosing Mike was easy not only from the sheer volume of patient nominations, but also from the associated number of nominations submitted by his nursing peers. His nursing colleagues’ nominations recognized Mike’s clinical proficiency and his leadership abilities. Our award committee identified a common theme in the numerous nominations. Primarily noted were Mike’s extraordinary and compassionate patient care, along with his propensity to aid healing by using his head, heart, and hands.
Mike is viewed as a highly respected clinical leader by members of our organization, and an ambassador to those in other agencies. He is willing to invest his own personal time and resources in patient care and in serving the other members of our unit.
