Nomination 1

On a Sunday afternoon, a discharging family discovered they had a flat tire. The family had a spare tire, but no jack. With no family in town and on a Christmas weekend, they asked for help. Neither security nor maintenance were able to help. When Michael heard I was looking for a jack for this family to borrow, he offered his up. Not only did Michael loan his jack, but he stayed and helped change the tire. Michael did this without ever missing a beat in his charge nurse role that day.

Our care under him was friendly, comfortable, and very responsive. We were attended to regularly with a cheerful disposition. He was over the cooperation of our daughter with great skill and fun attitude that was genuine with compassion.

We also noticed his attentiveness to another patient who did not have family with him at all. He gave him not only nursing care, but companionship and warmth of spirit.

He truly deserves this award.
