When I was referred to Kaiser Hospital, Redwood City, I was first impressed with its modern design and newer technology available to the patients. From the moment I checked in I was greeted with friendly nurses from the pre-op. I was transferred to the unit to complete my recovery where the level of care was amazingly exceptional. From the start, highly trained staff, literally paraded into my room with big smiles on their faces to offer me comfort and care. Because they were part of the night/swing shifts, I was not able to know them better. However, I was able to interact with more with the day shift nurses. One such nurse who assisted in my recovery on my 3rd and 4th day of my stay. Michael's clinical skill was on point as he completed his assessment of my condition. His level of compassion was evident by exceptional attentive care. Michael's devotion to my care was evident when he constantly encouraged me get out of bed and walk even when I was not in the mood to do so, knowing very well that it was good for me. When I thought I did something to derail my treatment, Michael helped alleviate my fears with facts from my medical record. Without Michael's continuous encouragement, my stay here would not have been as comfortable. thank you, Michael Tam, whole heartedly.
