Michael is an amazing nurse and team mate. Even when he isn't charge RN, he goes above and beyond to make sure the rest of the team isn't drowning or overwhelmed. He never makes anyone feel as though they are an inconvenience or a bother. He remains calm and collected.
Most recently, I asked for help with a wound dressing I was unfamiliar with. He didn't just explain what to do, he read the orders and proceeded to walk me through the dressing change. He was very courteous to my patient. He explained step by step with the how's and why's of what we were doing. Michael is a great teacher, never making his co-workers feel foolish. He encourages and edifies all he is around.
He is gentle and compassionate with all patients helping them to maintain dignity while at their most vulnerable. I am grateful to work with such an amazing person who helps and encourages us all to be better nurses. He pushes me to not give up and be a better nurse day after day. I hope he is around a long time, for I have much to learn from him.
