Michael Woods, RN

Michael Woods is a strong patient and nurse advocate. He is a transport nurse, and he collaborates well with the medical, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure that the patients are transported to the needed procedures safely. He would talk to the patients and families, and he ensures that they understand the procedure being done before he takes the patient. He is also a good nurses' safety advocate. Recognizing that the ICU beds are not working properly, he took the initiative to tag the non-working beds, calling the Engineering department to ensure that the beds are fixed so that no RN will be injured by pushing a non motorized bed. Michael is proactive, he goes over the procedures, reviews the pt's condition and coordinates with the nurses, respiratory therapists and procedure departments so there won't be delay in transporting the pt. He identified a process that is delaying patients' procedures and he voiced out his concerns and now the issue is being fixed so there will not be delays anymore. Michael is recognized and appreciated for all he does for the patients, their families and to the nurses.
