Michaela provided such incredible care to my aunt during her last few difficult days. According to them both, they connected right away. My Aunt was moved from the ICU to Comfort Care. Early in the morning, Michaela came down to my aunt’s new hospital room to say her goodbyes and pray alongside my aunt when she was unable to pray for herself. Michaela knew I was in pain watching my aunt suffering. She wrote a heartfelt letter and handed me a vial with a print of my aunt’s heartbeat inside. The vial read “May my last heartbeat be a gentle reminder of the love I have for you.” I burst into tears while Michaela hugged me and reminded me of the wonderful woman my aunt was, even in her hardest days. She provided me with a tremendous amount of comfort I did not even know was possible while going through something this painful. Thank you for your hard work, bravery, kindness, and compassion. For doing what no one else will, in a way no one can. For taking care of my aunt as if she was a member of your own family. You touched her life and my life in a way you will never understand. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for comforting her, myself, and my entire family when we needed it the most. The world is better because of people like you.
