I had an above-the-knee amputation, and I woke up not really wanting to live anymore. I thank my nurse for making me want to live again. This person’s attitude, personality, and professionalism were instrumental in helping me decide that life will go on. This nurse took the time to sit with me and listen to what I had to say. This nurse smiled and laughed with me. Once in a while, angels come along in my life, and they are heaven-sent. This person takes pride in being a nurse and exemplifies what it means to be a nurse and caregiver.

This nurse was my son’s nurse after his leg got amputated. Every time this nurse came into the room, it was like a ray of sunshine. This individual was always kind, caring, compassionate, and had the best listening ear. They were always professional but totally human in how they cared for my son. One day, my son wasn’t in a good mood, and this nurse felt it. This nurse gave him extra care and time to listen and encourage him.
