Our new Geriatric Medicine of BCH has launched with Dr. Elizabeth Lycett, MD, heading the Department, and Michele K Berreth, RN, has been a vital part of Dr. Lycett's practice. I would describe Michele as "selfless," someone who goes the extra mile for every patient that is in need. Dr. Lycett only sees patients who are over 70 years of age, and she has some of the most complex patients in terms of their medical complexities. Michele takes care of every call we get, triaging their symptoms and documenting in detail the exact medical issues they are dealing with. Sometimes, the calls are urgent, and she responds with extreme calmness and expediency. Because of her rational and calm demeanor, she is excellent at keeping the patients centered no matter what they seem to be going through. Her advice is always spot-on. Michele was also chosen to speak about the new BCH Geriatric Department in the video that will play at the BCH Gala coming up. Her nursing knowledge and bedside manner are an asset to Dr. Lycett's Geriatric practice and the Geriatric Department as a whole, as well as helping out when needed to triage difficult calls for the other doctors on staff at Frontier Internal Medicine. She is always willing to help out any of the doctors if we are short-handed and she does many things behind the scenes, to make sure patients get in to see Dr. Lycett in a timely manner. She also collaborates well with our Care Managers for our office. I cannot say enough great things about Michele. She is a tremendous asset to BCH, Dr. Lycett, and Frontier Internal Medicine!
