Michele Latona, RN

I would like to nominate Michele Latona, RN, for recognition for her outstanding compassion, dedication, and professionalism. In the short time I've had the pleasure of working alongside Michele, it has become clear to me that she is not only an incredible nurse but also a genuinely kind and selfless human being. I've had the privilege of working with many exceptional nurses throughout my career, many of whom I would consider mentors, but Michele truly stands out. The patience and kindness she demonstrates daily set a powerful example of what true nursing is all about. Michele consistently goes above and beyond the expected standard of care. She tends to the individuals in our program with a level of attention and compassion that reflects a deep personal commitment.

One moment that stands out to me involved an individual who was vomiting. As we responded, Michele, who has known this individual for years, did not hesitate to comfort him. While I took his vitals, Michele gently placed her hand on his forehead, rubbed his head, and cleaned the emesis from his clothing with care and grace. She acted with such warmth and empathy, as if she were tending to her own family member. That moment encapsulated the heart and soul of who Michele is as a nurse. In addition to her exceptional care for our individuals, Michele has shown me personal kindness and patience since my first day. She made me feel welcome, supported, and part of the team from the very beginning. I've already learned so much from her, and she continues to lead by example every day. Michele Latona exemplifies the highest standards of nursing and human compassion. It is an honor to work with her, and I wholeheartedly nominate her for this well-deserved recognition.
