I want to recognize Michele Rausch for her hard work and dedication to her staff, patients, and ministry. I would especially like to recognize her leadership as she dealt with the impact of Covid-19 in an obstetrical area as well as significant staffing challenges as she strived to meet the explosive demand for perinatal services. The expectations of her staff were always abundantly clear and patient-focused. Like any good leader, Michele advocated for necessary resources to keep all stakeholders safe. Truth be told, many times she staffed to fill a gap, but never complained. In many ways, Michele’s heroism would have gone unnoticed were it not for those of us who know her and recognized the heavy burden she carried. Additionally, prior to the pandemic, she took a leading role in our system reviewing workflows for all of our ministries as well as integration with the electronic health record in preparation for the epic launch.
