Michele Swida, MSN, RN
Michele Swida is certainly a well-known role model for many health care professionals but her ability to console and provide comfort to others has earned her the title of DAISY Nurse!
Mrs. Swida holds many hats within the Geisinger family, friend, mentor, nurse, nurse supervisor, travel and international nurse liaison but also adjunct faculty for Wilkes University from 2009-2019, Misericordia adjunct from 2012-present and certified emergency nurse from 1991- present. Throughout all of her tireless work, she continued to further her education obtaining her BSN from Bloomsburg University in 1993 and her MSN from Wilkes University in 2009.
Mrs. Swida stated, “at GWV I had many opportunities to grow professionally and personally in nursing. I have worked closely with the EMS community while in the ED, worked at the airshow, the arena, and interacted with some pretty amazing prehospital and hospital staff. I developed a strong collaborative network with my peers at GMC by starting the nurse excellence celebration, the certification dinner, CEU day, and other nurse’s week activities at GWV. The best part of GWV/GSWB is that I get to work with amazing nurses and all members of the Geisinger Family."
