Michelle is our director, and she does so much to help our unit be the best that it can be. She has so much passion for the care and outcomes of the moms and babies that we care for and the women's med-surg/gyn patients that we also serve. She is involved with multiple health initiatives, work groups, and processes to improve the care, safety, and outcomes of the populations we serve. She works tirelessly for us, both while at work and at home, while also juggling her husband, four kids, and coaching her two daughters' sports teams.

We are currently remodeling our Mother-Baby unit, and she coordinated the move and staff to assist the move flawlessly to our new temporary unit. She is currently managing staff who are spread out across three different units of the hospital. She is always available to her staff, answering calls and emails long into the night and at the crack of dawn. She encourages her staff to advance in their career and supports them in all ways she can. She takes on so many roles to improve the hospital, even when I feel she doesn't have much left of herself to give. She is completely selfless in my opinion, and her support has definitely pushed me to be a better nurse. I am currently her unit supervisor, and there is no one else in this world that I would want to work with day in and day out.
