Michelle is an incredible nurse in terms of care, empathy, education, attitude, and ethics. Michelle is the definition of an exceptional nurse and is an asset to Billings Clinic. The moment she walked in her smile and charismatic personality she made it clear that the care my mother would receive under her guidance would be exemplary. Michelle carefully examined the details of my mother's care to perfection. She delicately changed dressings and addressed her concerns. Michelle immediately asked the physician for orders to make her more comfortable with her back pain. She gently and safely gave her alternative positions to ease her discomfort and provided interventions such as a heating pad, lidocaine patches. Michelle took her time to zero in my mother's balloon pump to make sure she was getting the optimal benefit from this intervention. She carefully programmed the device taking the time to educate me on the process and expected outcomes to ease my questions and concerns. A newer nurse on the floor who is working on advancing her career came in to learn how to deliver safe and effective care. Michelle walked her through the steps with an explanation that was helpful and easy for the other nurse to understand. Michelle has the appropriate mix of humor and empathy. She made light-hearted jokes with my mom while staying keenly astute to her condition. She is a gem.
