Michelle Carini, RN
During one of the most vulnerable and emotional moments of my life, Michelle showed me a level of compassion and care that I will never forget. As a brand-new mother struggling to get my one-day-old baby to nurse, I felt overwhelmed, exhausted, discouraged, and frustrated. What started as a moment of defeat and could have easily felt isolating instead became manageable because of her kindness, patience, and unwavering support.
She walked into the room and immediately sensed something was not right. She came over, held me, and comforted me in a way I absolutely needed at that moment. She never made me feel rushed or inadequate. She sat with me, encouraged me, reassured me, and treated both my baby and me with genuine compassion, offering many different solutions to the problem I was facing.
She understood that I didn’t just need medical support – I needed emotional support too. Her calm presence and gentle guidance gave me confidence during a moment when I truly needed someone to be patient with me.
What stood out most was how deeply she cared about my and my daughter’s well-being. She treated me like a person, not just a patient. In a moment where I felt incredibly vulnerable, she made me feel seen, safe, and supported.
She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. Her compassion, empathy, and dedication had a lasting impact on my family and me, and I will always remember the care she gave us during such an important moment in our lives.
