Recently, one of our patients that we have taken care of for many years expectantly passed away. This patient was homeless and over the years we became his family. Many staff members wanted to do something in honor of this man but didn't know what to do. Michelle contacted decedent affairs to find out what would happen if he was not claimed. After finding out the process she sought out the input of staff members on how to proceed. Michelle took up donations to pay for the cremation, organized a memorial service, and took the remains to the mountains where he could rest in peace. Michelle went above and beyond to honor the life of a pleasant man.
