Michelle has that unique blend of clinical knowledge and compassionate intuition that makes her patients feel comfortable and cared for.
I went to the emergency room at RiverBend and was admitted and had abdominal surgery the next day. The blockage mass that was removed was determined to be cancerous. I was put on the 7th floor after surgery and was helped by Michelle. Needless to say, I was not feeling well after the major surgery and was also mentally depressed by the cancer diagnosis. Because of COVID restrictions, family, etc. were not allowed to visit. Michelle was a great help to me in getting through this time. She was very professional and efficient in her duties, checking on me on a regular basis and answering any questions as quickly as possible, and inquiring if she didn't have the answer.

I know the patient ratio to nurse was very high at the time, but Michelle always took the time to make me feel like my care was important. I felt comfortable knowing that when she was there, I was going to be taken care of. Michelle always came into the room with a smile on her face and conversed about things other than medical stuff as we got to know each other, which helped me greatly. Each day when her shift ended, it felt like an old friend was leaving. Michelle has that unique blend of clinical knowledge and compassionate intuition that makes her patients feel comfortable and cared for. She truly exemplifies a portion of the old "Nightingale" nurse’s pledge: "I shall be loyal to my workload and devoted towards the welfare of those committed to my care." Michelle’s skills helped me greatly during my hospital stay, and I recognize her exemplary devotion to patient care and wellbeing.
